Our Story
The Hobby Farm
The Hobby Farm started with a simple idea: create a place where people can slow down and spend meaningful time together.
For Claire and me, that idea grew over years of traveling, serving, and building our life together as a military family. Along the way, we realized that some of the moments that stayed with us most weren’t the big ones – they were the simple ones.
Sitting at a winery. Walking through a garden. Spending time on a farm. Being with friends where no one was in a rush, and the day just seemed to unfold naturally.
Those places had something special about them. They created a feeling, one of connection, presence, and ease.
When we first walked onto this century-old farm just outside Delafield, we felt that same sense of place right away. The rolling hills of the Kettle Moraine, the historic red barn, and the quiet landscape made it feel both expansive and personal at the same time.
We knew this could become something meaningful, and that’s what we’re building here.
The Hobby Farm is meant to be a countryside gathering place — somewhere you can wander through flower fields, meet up with friends, bring a picnic, or simply spend time outdoors without feeling like you have to be anywhere else.
It’s simple by design.
Because in our experience, the moments that matter most are the ones where you slow down, spend time together, and leave feeling a little more connected than when you arrived.
“Our hope is simple — that when people leave the farm, they drive home feeling happy.” — Bob, The Hobby Farm

We care deeply about the land and the natural beauty of this historic farm.

What Makes The Hobby Farm Unique
What Makes Us Different
The Hobby Farm is not designed as a typical attraction or event venue. It’s a place meant to be experienced slowly.
A Place to Wander
Visitors are invited to explore the flower fields, walk the property, and enjoy the landscape’s beauty at their own pace.
Seasonal Flower Fields
Thousands of dahlias bloom throughout the summer and fall, creating vibrant pathways through the fields.
Gathering Spaces
The hobby farm includes quiet places to sit, picnic, and spend time and your happy moments with friends and family.
Local Hobbies & Community
From outdoor recreation groups to artists and makers, the farm celebrates the hobbies and passions that bring people together.
The People Behind the Farm
Meet the Team / Family

The People We Partner With
We’re drawn to those who care about what they do, not just in the final product, but in how they show up for their communities and the experience they create for others.
One of those partners is Stone Creek Coffee.
Like us, Eric and Melissa believe in creating spaces where people can gather, slow down, and connect. They’ve built their business around relationships, from how they source their coffee to the way they welcome people into their cafés.
That felt like a natural fit.
At the farm, coffee isn’t just something you grab and go. It’s part of the experience – something you enjoy slowly, whether you’re sitting with friends, taking in the view, or starting your morning hike out here.
We chose to partner with Stone Creek because they share that same mindset: that simple moments, done well, can mean something.
And that’s exactly what we’re trying to create here.

Come Experience The Hobby Farm
Whether you’re visiting to walk through the flower fields, meet friends for a picnic, enjoy the views, or simply spend a peaceful afternoon outdoors, we’d love to welcome you.
The Hobby Farm is designed to be a place where people gather, reconnect, and leave feeling a little more refreshed than when they arrived.
